We know that being parents can be a wild adventure. It is fun and challenging at the same time. We believe that parents have the greatest potential to make a difference in a student’s life. It’s our desire to help you maximize that influence. This area of our site is here to help you stay up to date with what we’re talking about with students in our Middle School Ministry. By knowing what we’re talking about, you have the opportunity to speak into your student’s life with a consistent message. We also want to provide resources to help you raise your child to know and follow Jesus. These resources can help you regardless of what our current teaching series is for your young adolescent.

Thanks for checking us out! Since you are reading this, it’s probably true that either you currently have a child in fifth through eighth grade or will soon or care deeply about someone who is or will be in this group. As Middle School Pastor for Mount Pleasant Christian Church, that’s exciting to me!

It’s a partnership, not a supplement. This ministry ultimately wants to help middle schoolers know and follow Jesus. We want to do this in partnership with parents and families, the ones God has called to raise these children so that they will know and obey Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7) With that in mind, much of what we do is to help and support you as a parent. So please feel free to contact me with any questions, ideas, concerns or random thoughts.

Information is good. Conversation is better. In this busy world, it is difficult to find time to sit down and have real conversations. We created this site to give you the basic information you need to understand and get connected with our ministry. However, I really would like to sit down and talk with you about your child, our ministry, and how we can partner with you better. Email me to setup a time to do that. You might even get a free coffee out of it!

I’m a parent and a pastor, but not an expert. I’m doing the best I can, with my wife, raising three kids. I’ve been serving in student ministry for over 20 years, over 12 of those at MPCC. I still have so much more to learn. So as you move from reading about to participating in our ministry, please give me feedback along the way. Your thoughts and ideas might not just help me, but many of the other parents, families and middle schoolers connected to this ministry!
