Welcome to seventy8!
seventy8 is the middle school ministry for seventh-eighth graders at Mount Pleasant Christian Church in Greenwood, Indiana.
Read. Be encouraged! Have fun! Be challenged! Be equipped!
Thanks for checking out this site!
Since you are reading this, it’s probably true that either you currently have a child in seventh or eighth grade or will soon. That’s exciting to me!
As Middle School Pastor for Mount Pleasant Christian Church, I lead this middle school ministry and fifty-six, our ministry for fifth through sixth graders.
It’s a partnership, not a supplement.
This ministry ultimately wants to help preteens know and follow Jesus. We want to do this in partnership with parents and families, the ones God has called to raise these children so that they will know and obey Him. (Deuteronomy 6:4-7)
With that in mind, much of what we do is to help and support you as a parent. So please feel free to contact me with any questions, ideas, concerns or random thoughts.
Information is good. Conversation is better.
In this busy world, it is difficult to find time to sit down and have real conversations. We created this site to give you the basic information you need to understand and get connected with our ministry.
However, I really would like to sit down and talk with you about your preteen, our ministry, and how we can partner with you better. Email me to setup a time to do that. You might even get a free coffee out of it!
I’m a parent and a pastor, but not an expert.
I’m doing the best I can, with my wife, raising three kids. I’ve been serving in student ministry for almost 20 years, 10 of those at MPCC. I still have so much more to learn.
So as you move from reading about to participating in our ministry, please give me feedback along the way. Your thoughts and ideas might not just help me, but many of the other parents, families and preteens connected to this ministry!
Thanks for reading this far! We have even more content for you. Below is a list of some of the most important content we want to share with you. Click on the title to go directly to that page.
The philosophy behind why we do preteen ministry the way we do that must might lend a little perspective and help to you in how, as a parent, you can best help them own their faith.
